Welcome to Milton Keynes Karate Club

We are very excited that you have started your karate journey with us.

Over your time with the club we will be teaching you Traditional Shotokan Karate. We will do this with both one on one training, small groups and as a whole club. Our job is to keep you safe, whilst having fun, so we ask that you listen to the Sensei (teacher) when they are instructing you. This reduces the risk of injury to you and your fellow karateka (students).

As a traditional club we also focus on etiquette – we will show you equal respect, whilst helping you to understand how to show your respect within the Association as a whole.

If you haven’t already done so, please visit and like our Facebook page (@mkkarateclub) as this is where we will place notice of any upcoming events and last minute changes to training, especially during the summer holidays. This information will also be on our website.

For your first few lessons please wear loose, comfy clothes – no shoes, socks or jewellery to be worn (if you have earrings and can’t take them out, please put tape over them – if you forget, speak to Sensei as we always carry this with us). Once you are settled in you’ll need to purchase a Gi (karate suit), please speak to Sensei to discuss size requirements.

Lessons cost £5 per lesson per student. You can pay weekly or up front for 6 lessons – if you pay up front, you’ll get an extra lesson free each time!

Please complete the Registration Form and the Photo Consent form via the links above. You will need to apply for your licence within 6 weeks of starting and the form you need to complete will be provided to you at training.

You will also be provided with free access to our app, and the email address you note on the Registration Form will be used for this purpose.
